Implantation

Implantation
Implantation is when a fertilised egg implants into the lining of the uterus. Implantation generally occurs around 6-10 days past ovulation. The hormone HCG is produced when the fertilised egg implants and this is the hormone detectd in pregnancy tests. HCG increases rapidly in the early weeks of pregnancy and usually doubles in amount every 48-72 hours.
Some women may experience a very light bleed or notice some spotting when implantation occurs.
